An amazing play written by a student at East Brooklyn Community HS. I spent several years teaching Playwriting there and will always remember this play. The day we presented it in front of the school with actors, Gardyana did not come. In fact, she was absent from class a lot, and the pages you will read here were done in 1 or 2 sessions.
The story is about a young Black man standing on a corner waiting with his hands behind his back. When a NYC police officer stops to ask him about the reason for his hands being behind his back, a tense confrontation full of assumptions ensues.
